XPS foam board (extruded polystyrene board) has excellent thermal insulation performance, which is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Low thermal conductivity

The thermal conductivity of XPS foam board is extremely low, usually between 0.024~0.035 W/(m·K), which means that it can effectively prevent the transfer of heat. This property gives XPS foam board a significant advantage in the field of insulation, ensuring a stable indoor temperature and reducing energy consumption.

2. High closed cell ratio

The closed cell rate of XPS foam board is as high as more than 99%, and a continuous vacuum layer is formed inside. This is due to its excellent durability and stable chemical properties. Experiments have shown that the thermal insulation performance of XPS foam board is still very high after multiple freeze-thaw cycles, showing excellent freeze-thaw resistance.

4. Comparison of thermal insulation effect

Practice has proved that the thermal insulation effect of XPS foam board is very significant. For example, a 20 mm thick XPS extruded insulation board is equivalent to a 50 mm thick expanded polystyrene, or a 120 mm thick cement perlite. This is further proof of the excellent performance of XPS foam board in terms of thermal insulation performance.
